How It Works
Our system analyzes validator performance across multiple dimensions and executes strategic redelegations when necessary. The process is designed to be proactive, protecting your stake from poor-performing or risky validators.
Performance Monitoring
Polli tracks key validator metrics including:
- Uptime & Reliability - monitors missed blocks and overall network participation
- Slashing Events - tracks recent penalties and jail status
- Commission Rates - analyzes fee structures relative to network averages
- Validator Health - assesses overall operational status and recent changes
Redelegation Triggers
A validator is flagged for redelegation when it exhibits concerning performance indicators:
- 🚫 Recent slashing events - multiple penalties within a recent period indicate operational issues
- ❌ Low uptime - frequent missed blocks reduce rewards and increase risk
- 💰 Excessive commission - fees significantly above network average (evaluated using statistical analysis)
- 🔒 Extended jail periods - validators jailed for too long after slashing events
- ⚠️ Operational concerns - other red flags that impact validator reliability
Validator Selection via Polli Scoring
When redelegation is triggered, Polli's scoring engine evaluates all available validators to find the optimal destination. The scoring algorithm ranks every validator based on a weighted formula:

| APR | 90% | The annual percentage return a validator offers, calculated based on real on-chain rewards. Higher APR = higher rank. |
| Uptime | 5% | The percentage of blocks the validator successfully signed, calculated based on a fixed time period. Reliable validators receive a boost. |
| Voting Power | 5% | The validator's share of total network stake. Lower voting power preferred (promotes decentralization). |
Only validators with ACTIVE status are eligible as redelegation destinations. Validators flagged as NOT RECOMMENDED (due to low uptime, excessive slashing, high commission, or other concerns) are penalized to 10% of their score, effectively deprioritizing them. INACTIVE validators (unbonded, tombstoned) are excluded entirely.
The system automatically selects the highest-scoring validator(s) that meet quality standards and portfolio diversification requirements, then executes the redelegation on your behalf.
The Redelegation Process
- Continuous Monitoring - validators are analyzed on every optimization cycle

- Destination Selection - algorithm selects optimal destination validator(s)
- Simulation & Validation - transaction is simulated to ensure success
- Execution - redelegation is broadcast to the blockchain
- Completion - cosmos blockchain processes the redelegation (typically 21 days to complete)
